Pat
Mannix
Member, Dymocks Literacy Foundation Advisory Group |
 |
Pat’s background is
in civil engineering and it was with a British civil engineering
company that he spent many years working in the United Kingdom and
Zimbabwe, moving into a position of Project manager on Projects in
these two countries. |
The
importance of education and literacy in the Third World was
particularly highlighted in Zimbabwe where the parents considered
it paramount that their children were able to speak and read well
in English as this was considered by the parents as the best route
to a better way of life for their children.
Having spent most of the 1990’s working overseas, Pat returned and
worked in a contract management role for an Australian
construction company before spending time in Asia with an
Australian consulting firm, again working on construction projects
in Papua New Guinea and China.
Pat entered into the book industry, and is the Franchise Owner of
Dymocks Erina since 2003. |
