Blaxcell Street Public School

On the 5th of March 2008, Adam and Mel Spencer visited Blaxcell Street Public School with a very special and personal donation.

In 2006 Adam was a Principal for a day at Blaxcell Street Public School and ever since then has had a special place for them in his heart.

Over 800 students assembled to greet the ABC Radio host, and presented a Thank You book made by the students. With Adam's personal donation, the DLF were able to purchase almost 1000 books for children who suffer from reading difficulties. These donation will fund 4 literacy programs from Kindergarten to Year 6 be given as encouragement awards when they complete a part of their course.

Many of these students come from Non-English speaking families and these books will provide some high interest reading material that is suitable to their reading level.
